The former star of "Fringe" and "Mindhunter" will soon be seen in "Territory," an epic drama set in the Australian Outback. Netflix has confirmed the worldwide premiere date for October 24.

Series Overview
"Territory," with a premise reminiscent of the hit Western "Yellowstone," revolves around the largest cattle ranch in the world. Without a clear heir, a fierce battle for the land ensues, threatening to tear apart the powerful Lawson family from within. Rivals sense the dynasty's decline and prepare to strike, including other cattle ranchers, desert gangsters, mining billionaires, and representatives of Australia's Indigenous people.

Anna Torv plays Emily Lawson. The main cast also includes Michael Dorman as Graham Lawson, "Longmire" star Robert Taylor as Colin Lawson, and Sam Corlett as Marshall Lawson, all presumably vying for the family's legacy. Additional cast members include "Beauty and the Beast" star Jay Ryan, Clarence Ryan (unrelated to Jay Ryan), Dan Wyllie, Philippa Northeast, Joe Klocek, and Kylah Day.

Production Details
"Territory," initially titled "Desert King," was created by Tim Lee and Ben Davies, with Greg McLean ("La Brea") directing. The first six episodes were filmed in locations including Kakadu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and Tipperary Station, a real cattle ranch large enough to have its own airstrip.

The series promises to deliver a gripping narrative set against the stunning backdrop of the Australian wilderness, exploring themes of power, family, and survival. Fans of Anna Torv and epic dramas have much to look forward to with the release of "Territory" this October.

Getreu diesem bekannten Motto hat Netflix den Starttermin einer neuen Anime-Serie aus dem "Terminator"-Franchise verkündet und es ist nicht irgendein Datum. Am Tag der Abrechnung, am 29. August, startet "Terminator Zero" bei dem Streaming-Primus.

Im Jahr 2022 hat bereits seit Jahrzehnten ein Krieg die Erde verwüstet. Eine kleine Gruppe überlebender Menschen führt einen verzweifelten Kampf gegen eine übermächtige Armee von Maschinen, seitdem die künstliche Intelligenz Skynet im Jahr 1997 ein eigenes Bewusstsein entwickelte. Eine Soldatin wird zur Hoffnungsträgerin. Sie wird ins Jahr 1997 zurückgeschickt, um das Schicksal der Menschheit zu verändern.

Dort soll die Soldatin einen Wissenschaftler namens Malcolm Lee schützen, der eine neue künstliche Intelligenz entwickelt, die Skynet den Kampf ansagen soll. Während Malcolm mit dem moralischen Zwielicht seiner Erfindung konfrontiert wird, ist ihm außerdem ein unaufhaltsamer Attentäter aus der Zukunft auf den Fersen, der das Schicksal seiner drei Kinder für immer verändert.

"Terminator Zero" wird von Skydance und dem japanischen Animationsstudio Production I.G. produziert. Kreiert wurde das Format von Mattson Tomlin, der auch als Showrunner fungiert. Zuvor war er als Autor für den Netflix-Film "Project Power" mit Jamie Foxx und Joseph Gordon-Levitt tätig. Zudem arbeitet Tomlin aktuell am Drehbuch zur Fortsetzung von "The Batman".

Das "Terminator"-Franchise, das 1984 mit dem Kultfilm von James Cameron begann, umfasst bislang sechs Filme. Der letzte davon, "Terminator: Dark Fate", für den Linda Hamilton ihre Paraderolle als Sarah Connor wieder aufnahm, kam 2019 in die Kinos. "Terminator Zero" ist die zweite Fernsehserie des Franchise, jedoch die erste Anime-Produktion. "Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles" mit der späteren "Game of Thrones"-Hauptdarstellerin Lena Headey lief ab 2008 zwei Staffeln lang beim US-Sender FOX.

While largely unknown in Germany, "Bat Boy" is a character that many Americans remember from the 1990s, making headlines in a tabloid newspaper. This fictional creature, half-bat and half-boy, with no connection to the "Batman" universe, is now set to become the protagonist of a new Netflix series. The development of this format is helmed by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the showrunner of "Riverdale."

The series, titled "Bat Boy," is conceptualized as a young adult horror-comedy by Aguirre-Sacasa, known for "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" and "Pretty Little Liars: Summer School," alongside Joe Tracz ("One Piece"). The character originally appeared in the 1990s in the Weekly World News, a tabloid famous for its fictional sensational stories often sold at supermarket checkouts. The newspaper had a divided fan base: those who appreciated it as a brilliant satire and conspiracy theorists who believed its content.

In the new series, according to Deadline Hollywood, the titular character is now a teenager named Bobby Bates. He has lived in seclusion on the outskirts of town as a remnant of a long-defunct traveling circus. However, he is brought back into society by a teenager named Charisma and her sister Olive. Bobby enrolls in high school and attempts to find his place in the community. His efforts are complicated by his inherent craving for human blood. Meanwhile, a dark secret begins to unfold in the swamps of Florida.

The production is handled by Muckle Man Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with Aguirre-Sacasa already having a track record of creating content directly for Netflix, as seen with "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina." His co-writer, Joe Tracz, created the Netflix series "Dash" and is currently part of the writing team for "Percy Jackson: The Series" on Disney+. As of now, Warner Bros. and Netflix have not officially commented on the plans for the series.
